8.5 Maintenance or appropriate enhancement of protective functions in forest management (notably soil and water).

8.5森林經營中保護功能的維持或適當增強（特別是土壤和水）。

8.5.2 The areas that fulfil specific and recognized protective functions for society shall be mapped, and forest management plans and operations shall ensure the maintenance or enhancement of these functions.

8.5.2 應對具備特定和公認保護功能的區域進行繪圖，並且森林經營計畫和作業活動，應確保這些功能的維持或增強。

可能資料的整備：

        應明確標示出那些對社會具有特殊保護功能的區域，例如:水源涵養區、防風林、生態保育區等保安林或保護林。森林經營活動應以維護或增強這些區域的保護功能為目標。經營計畫與作業活動配合。

因此組織應準備以下資料：

1.         提供相關保安林或保護林地圖，標示出各類保護項目的範圍和界線。

2.         提供對各保安林或保護林的保護功能進行評估的報告。

3.         提供森林經營計畫，說明如何針對不同保安林或保護林，採取不同的保護經營措施。

4.         提供監測結果，以追蹤保安林或保護林的生態狀況和保護功能的變化。

8. Operation

8.5 Maintenance or appropriate enhancement of protective functions in forest management (notably soil and water).

8.5.2 The areas that fulfil specific and recognized protective functions for society shall be mapped, and forest management plans and operations shall ensure the maintenance or enhancement of these functions.

Preparation of possible information:

        Areas with special protection functions for the community should be clearly marked, such as protective forests including, water conservation areas, windbreak forests, and ecological conservation areas, etc. Forest management activities should aim at maintaining or enhancing the conservation functions of these areas. The management plan is coordinated with the operation activities.

Therefore, organization should prepare the following data:

1.         Provide relevant protected forest maps to indicate the scope and boundaries of various types of protected forests.

2.         Provide a report on the assessment of the conservation function of each protected forest.

3.         Provide a forest management plan that explains how different conservation management measures will be implemented for different protected forests.

4.     Provide monitoring results to track changes in the ecological status and conservation functions of protected forests.
